Tsuwano Exploring

Tsuwano, the former thriving castle town, is situated at the foot of Mt. Aonoyama.

It offers many historic scenery including a range of white earthen wall-surrounded old houses standing along the waterways with irises in full bloom, a shrine with a tunnel of small red shrine gates (Taikodani Inari Shrine; one of the Japan’s five greatest Inari shrines),

And a pass (or hill) telling a sad story of Japanese Catholics who perished for religious belief. (Otome Pass).
